We sure have come a long way in the past 12 years. From basic HTML to HTML 4.1, XHTML/XML, DHTML, advanced Javascript, Shockwave and Flash, Streaming Media, PHP/Pearl, CSS and many other tools. Many websites now feature rich media content and seemless page transitions providing a very interactive experience.
One mistake we, as well as many other website designers, made in the early years was to not prepare for the future. The software we had at hand didn't really allow us to develop sites that were "next-gen" ready. Today, that's not an issue.
While no designer can develop a site that will always be ready for every future advancement, we can ensure that the sites will build will be ready for near future upgrades. All our sites are designed with XHTML, which is a more strict HTML version that is future-ready. In addition, we use CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) for the layouts, ensuring the design remains constent and predictable.
Whatever the future may bring, we'll be ready... and as our client, you will be too.

In the beginning, the websites we created reflected the limitations of the technology and software of that era. Altough viewed as cutting-edge, in 1996, the resources available to web designers were prehistoric compared to what is within reach today. Back then, the most resourceful thing we had in our arsenal was very basic HTML coding and some early raw stages of Java and Flash.
Our early designs appeared amateurish, having generic looking backgrounds, blocky text and headings and simple square outlines. Most sites featured colors chosen from only a 16 color palette in an effort to remain "web-safe". There were no high-resolution LCD monitors, no super fast graphics cards, tiny amounts of RAM and HD space and we were stuck with Windows 95... anticipating the much needed arrival of Windows 98. In reality, website design could've been pushed further than what it was, but the limit of the technology and the newborn internet with painfully slow connections couldn't support it.

Connect it! Web Services was formed in 2005 to handle the web design and IT services of its parent company. In 2007, Connect it! Web Services became solely dedicated to website design, maintainence and hosting and IT services. We are focused on what we really have a passion for: Website Creation.
